To Our Friends Behind the Scenes

Today’s post is a quick one.

Sometimes we feel like we are alone in the world. We wonder if anyone even notices we are here and if anyone would care if we were not.

They do. They would.

We have different kinds of friends. We have the friends we see everyday, the ones who stop what they are doing to acknowledge us and to encourage us. We have the friends who regularly check in with us and enjoy taking the time to catch up on each other’s lives. Both of these kind of friends are super important in our lives. We give and receive love and care from and for these friends. To my friends, know I love you and I appreciate all you do for me and, more importantly, who you are as you show up in the world.

And then we have our “behind the scenes” friends. These are the friends who check in on us and who seem to know exactly what is going on in our lives, even though we may only see them once or twice each year. These friends are very precious. They care for us without being seen or applauded. They are our steady friends, the ones who notice when your social media posts are becoming a little dark, and they ask about it. These are the friends we can always count on.

To my “behind the scenes” friends, thank you. You fill my heart with joy. There are not enough ways to tell you how much I appreciate having you in my life.
