Life can change faster than we realize. We can have great news that brings us great joy one day and then feel like our world has been shattered the next. One thing I have learned about life is that it changes. This too shall pass…both the good and the bad.
And there is no one to blame when life changes. It just… is. We can feel elated. We can feel deflated. We can wonder what happened or why it didn’t happen sooner. And all of it can happen at the same time. And its okay.
If today you are facing big changes in your life, know that you are not alone. If you wonder whether you will ever feel good again, you will. If you are expecting the joy and excitement to last forever, I am sorry, it won’t, so don’t waste one second of it.
I shared that I was making changes in my life. And I am. And I feel really good about them. What I forgot about was that sometimes change happens in our world that we didn’t intend to happen. So what do we do with that? We let ourselves feel whatever mixed feelings we may have. We make a plan. We care for ourselves. We surround ourselves with friends and supports. And then we move forward.
I may need to take a bit of time away from blogging to focus on some big changes coming in my life. Know that I will be using that time to take care of myself and my family and I will be back to share with you when the time is right. The changes coming are best kept out of social media and a public forum. Meanwhile, know that I feel optimistic. A friend just reminded me that not all positive change feels positive in the beginning and she is right.
