March is finally here, with Spring just around the corner. And with it comes a gentle invitation to step boldly into a life we’ve always dreamed of.
Today, I want to share the beginning of a transformative journey that I find myself on, and I invite you to join me—a path that honours where we are right now while courageously reaching toward where we want to be. For me, this invitation is also a return to my early days of blogging, when I wrote a post every day for 45 days. That project propelled me into a life that reflected my love for writing and sharing my thoughts with others. This series, six years later, is really about what it means to “march into your dream life” and how to set the stage for creating the future we desire.
Embracing the Present as Our Foundation
Before we leap forward, let’s pause and look around. Our daily lives are filled with moments that, even in their simplicity, hold deep meaning. When we take the time to feel gratitude, to express gratitude, we send a message to ourselves and to the universe that we are thankful for what we have and where we are. As a parent, I know that I am more likely to give more to my children when I know they are grateful for what they already have. The same is true for us. I often find that gratitude for our everyday blessings is the secret ingredient to unlocking our future potential. Think about it: when we honour the small victories and joys in our lives—be it a warm cup of tea on a chilly morning (especially next to the fireplace), a supportive conversation with a friend, or a quiet moment of reflection—we build a reservoir of positive energy and we invite more in. That positive energy can carry us through the day or into the next week. Every step of gratitude builds something more for us to be grateful for.
Reflection Prompt:
Take a few moments now. Grab your journal or a piece of paper and list three things you’re grateful for today. Notice how these seemingly ordinary moments form the fabric of a life filled with promise.
Dreaming Big: What Do You Really Want?
The theme of this series is not about merely accepting the hand we’ve been dealt, but about creating and manifesting the life we truly desire. Have you ever sat down and asked yourself, “What do I really want?” Not just the surface-level goals or what society expects of you, but your deepest, most heartfelt desires? Do you want to live a life of comfort? Of adventure? Of abundance? We need to ask ourselves what we really want and not feel guilty for it. There is nothing inherently wrong in wanting to live out our dreams. We can be adventurous and learn about the different ways people see the world. We can have wealth and abundance and be generous with our wealth to help people and ease their suffering. We can desire to be or do anything we want, and use our talents to inform and change the world into a kinder and gentler place for all people.
I remember a time when I felt stuck—like I was living on autopilot. I was living by default, like whatever happened in my life was what I had to accept. It wasn’t until I took a moment to really question my desires that I discovered a passion for creating words of beauty and inspiration. That single question, “What do I really want?” opened the door to a life of intentional choices and bold decisions. It propelled me to make changes in my career, in my hobbies, to strengthen my marriage and my relationships with friends and my children. And now, that same question is nudging me toward updating our home, establishing or re-establishing traditions to bring joy and connection back into my life. I am led to write again, to create things and experiences that can connect people. I will talk more about my dreams in later posts.
The Intersection of Gratitude and Aspiration
One might wonder, how can I build a dream life while being grateful for my current one? The answer lies in balance. Gratitude is not about complacency; it’s about grounding ourselves in the present so that we have a solid foundation from which to build. When we appreciate the good in our current life, we invite more positivity into our future. It creates a fertile ground where dreams can take root and flourish.
Consider gratitude as the water for your seeds of aspiration. Without water, even the most promising seed can wither away. With it, there’s the potential to grow into something truly magnificent.
Taking the First Step: Setting Clear Intentions
Now, let’s talk about action. Manifesting your dream life isn’t magic—it’s a deliberate, thoughtful process that starts with setting clear intentions. Begin by asking three essential questions:
- What do I really want?
Dive deep into your desires without fear or judgment. Write down everything that comes to mind, no matter how big or small. - What would it take to get there?
Break your dream into manageable steps. Consider the skills you need to learn, the habits you need to develop, or even the changes in mindset that must occur. - What am I willing to do to make it happen?
This is where commitment plays a role. Think about the actions you are ready to take—even if they’re just baby steps initially.
Exercise:
Tonight, spend some quiet time with your journal. Answer the above three questions honestly. Look at your responses with compassion and an open mind. You might be surprised by the clarity that follows.
Visualizing Our Future Self
Visualization is a powerful tool in manifesting dreams. I encourage you to create a vision board—either physically with magazines and photos or digitally using platforms like Pinterest. Gather images, words, and symbols that represent the life you desire. This isn’t just about pretty pictures; it’s about reinforcing your intentions every day. I personally have a Pinterest folder that I add to regularly.
Think of your vision board as a daily reminder that the life you’re dreaming of is already taking shape, that the Universe is conspiring in your favour. Every glance at it is a gentle nudge from the universe, saying, “Keep going. You’re on the right path.”
Actionable Steps to Kick Off Your Journey
- Morning Rituals:
Start each day with a gratitude practice. Whether it’s through meditation, journaling, or simply a few moments of quiet reflection, let gratitude anchor your morning. - Daily Affirmations:
Choose affirmations that resonate with your dreams. Say them out loud as you look in the mirror—reminding yourself that you are worthy, capable, and destined for greatness. A post-it note on the mirror can be a good reminder. - Plan Small Wins:
Identify one small, actionable step you can take today that aligns with your dream. It might be as simple as researching a new hobby or reaching out to a mentor. Celebrate these wins, no matter how minor they may seem. - Create a Supportive Environment:
Surround yourself with people and resources that uplift you. Whether it’s a community group, inspirational books, or online forums, build a network that nourishes your growth.
A Few Resources to Help Along the Way
- Books:
“The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho – a timeless reminder to pursue your personal legend.

Look into podcasts like “The School of Greatness” or “Manifestation Babe” for daily doses of inspiration and practical advice. - Online Communities:
Joining groups on social media platforms can provide support and accountability. Sometimes, knowing that others are walking a similar path can make all the difference.
March Forward with Confidence
As we step into March, I invite you to embrace this new month as a symbol of your fresh start. Your dream life is not a destination but a journey—a series of intentional, heartfelt steps that lead you toward the future you desire. Today is the perfect day to begin, to be courageous enough to dream big while remaining anchored in the gratitude of your present.
Take this moment as a call to action: March into your dream life with the assurance that every small step is progress. Trust that your intentions, when nurtured with care and commitment, will blossom into the reality you’ve always imagined.
Final Reflection:
What’s one step you can take today that brings you closer to your dream life? Write it down, commit to it, and know that this journey is uniquely yours. Let each day be a celebration of both your current blessings and your future potential.
I’m excited to continue this journey with you. Over the coming weeks, we’ll explore more about aligning your mindset, taking deliberate actions, and embracing the wonderful, sometimes unexpected, twists and turns of life. Until then, keep dreaming, keep growing, and remember that your future is as bright as your willingness to take that first step.
